Thirty one players
enjoyed a fun
afternoon of
Petanque at the Cody
Sports Club in
Farnborough. The
weather was just
right, not too hot
and with a pleasant
breeze. The four
members of the
Crondall club who
were organising the
event were very
helpful with their
advice.
As is normal we
played with and
against different
people throughout
the afternoon which
it is a great way to
get to know other
club members.
The overall winner
was Derek East who
was also the Men’s
winner. Vearl
Netherway was the
Ladies’ winner and
Sue Britnell was
deemed the
friendliest player.
It was her first
time playing the
game and we hope she
will play again next
time.
We take this
opportunity to thank
Josie and Bill
Abbott who have
organised the event
for many years and
who are stepping
down.
